The Chair of Agrotourism and Wine Tourism of the Canary Islands is an institutional chair of the University of La Laguna and the Government of the Canary Islands through the Canary Islands Institute of Agri-food Quality, which promotes research and knowledge transfer in the field of agrotourism and wine tourism. Its main objective is to raise awareness and contribute to the responsible, sustainable and accessible development of tourism in direct contact with agricultural activities.

To achieve this, the Chair will generate and disseminate knowledge and lessons learned about agrotourism and wine tourism with companies in the primary sector: ensuring the responsible development of the sector, advising companies and public administrations and offering specialized training.

The Chair of Agrotourism and Wine Tourism of the Canary Islands was established in May 2019. Its constitution was based on the results and guidelines of two key projects: “Crecer Juntos” of the Government of the Canary Islands and the Aula Cultural de Enoturismo y Turismo Gastronómico of the University of La Laguna.
